Hello everyone, and welcome to the inaugural Ross "Through the Lens" blog post. We at Ross Video are delighted to take this opportunity to connect with you on a more regular basis.
Ross has been designing and manufacturing live production solutions for more than 40 years, and Through the Lens is an ideal way for us to share our knowledge, experience and perspectives on the future of live production and the role that technology will play in its evolution. Now that you have the "why" of Through the Lens, I thought it would be a good idea to also explain the "who, what, where and when" in this first post.

We make it easy to create compelling news, weather and sports broadcasts, engaging content for sports stadium screens, entertainment shows and rock concerts, educational institutions, legislative assemblies, corporate applications and inspiring content for houses of worship.

As for the person writing this post, my name is Kyle, and I am the content strategist at Ross Video. I will be the one managing the day to day activities of this blog. I started with Ross after graduating from university and haven’t looked back. Some of my earliest memories are of watching the Toronto Maple Leafs play the Atlanta Thrashers on CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada. I started with Ross after I graduated from university because I know that memories like these would not be possible without the men and women (and technology!) working behind the camera.
Along the way, you will also be hearing from other members of the Ross team, and they are just as excited to share their experience and expertise as I am. As the Ross blog matures, expect senior members of the Ross team to contribute content periodically.
Like I said above, this new blog aims to:
- Explore the latest technologies influencing live production
- Shed light on the emerging and prevailing trends in the industry
While some blog posts will inevitably cover topics that Ross feels are important, we want you to feel that this is your space. If any of our posts generate questions, or there is a topic you would like to see covered in future, please let me know; I will do my best to help.
New blog posts will be published the first and second-to-last Wednesday of every month. Older blog posts are accessible at any time from the Through the Lens page.
